For the love of Rugs : Jute Rugs Round Up

jenpen.studio - August 5, 2016 - 2 comments

It’s been a busy week with several photo shoots and visiting places on the island I haven’t been for a while. It’s been great and yesterday after the shoot we took a break in a local barber shop, which also has a bar to drink and chill. One thing that caught my eye was a lovely, vintage look rug. Say hello to my dirty old, but oh so comfortable, shoes.
I love the pattern and colors in this rug, so today I’m going to do a round up of a type of rug that is easy to maintain. Why? I love living on this island, but what all of us really have a problem with is dust everywhere. The wind brings every dust from the beach, the streets or wherever it would like to bring it from. So, this is going to be a round up of rugs that can be easily cleaned. So, here’s a round up for JUTE RUGS.

I really love the natural look of jute rugs. It’s a basic natural color that can be combined with a lot of different vivid colors. These types rugs are hand woven, so you will get an unique piece in your home. But please don’t place them in a bathroom. Since it’s a natural fiber, it is quite absorbent. This means using it in a humid or damp environment as a bathroom mat or outdoor welcome mat is out of the question, as it can become moldy, mildewed or fall apart.

You can use a simple vacuuming with a brush to clean it off or to remove the dust. You can also just hang it over a wall and beat the dust off. They come in playful patterns and so cool to place in a playrooms, bedrooms or living rooms. You can also enjoy in your office.
How do you like these? Any favorites? Well, enjoy them as we are entering another weekend filled with greatness to do. Have a good one you guys and I’ll see you next week back here.
