Dos Gatos Y Simone: an industrial greenhouse

One thing I really love to do is travel. Travel to the unknown and experience the culture, people, places, food and the overall experience of it all. Past January I had the pleasure to visit Bogota, Colombia. I was my first time ever heading to South America and it was a great first choice. A change from the island to a city life once in a while is so awesome. Bogota is a diverse city with modern and traditional architecture. The artistry of street art is mind-blowing. In every corner you mind find an unique, colorful piece on some wall. And that was exactly the feeling when we were walking in the district of Candelaria. Without knowing you’re passing a wall all covered with cats and then find an open door to bring you in one of the coolest interior of a restaurant. Let’s take a tour in the mexican restaurant, Dos Gatos Y Simone.

When I noticed it was a restaurant I immediately wanted to enter to see more. The first thing that draws you in, is the glass roof. The glass roof brings so much light in and I can only imagine on a clear night you can see the stars while seating in there. Another details are the tiles with a colorful pattern on the stairs when entering

You’ll be greeted with a beautiful mural, when entering the restaurant and turn your head back.

The place is filled with plants. Not over the board filled, but it does has it share of different plants pots and even a green wall behind the bar. With the glass roofing, it lowkey gives you a feeling that you’re in a greenhouse.

The interior style here is a warm industrial style with colorful touches. Because of the exposed brick bar wall and steel elements it’s a sure thing for the industrial style, but the warm tones are added by the wooden furniture. Which I might say are the cutest. Even though if you’re a tall person you might sit a bit weird on the chairs. Luckily there benches too.

I really loved the playfulness in this restaurant, where two cats and Simone hang out. To bad we didn’t had the chance to eat the food (but I’ve heard the food is awesome).
