Curaçao is always open for international investors to bring their business to the island. It’s a great pleasure when “outsiders” see the potential in our little rock. But I’m even more proud when our own locals, as we say ‘yu di tera’, invest in Curaçao. ‘Yu di tera’ means literally child of earth, or better said the child of our soil.
In one part of the downtown, there’s Pietermaai district, where there are many boutique hotels. There’s a new boutique hotel that opened in the midst of the pandemic. The name fits perfectly with the proud feeling of being a local. This boutique hotel is owned and run by our own people, but with an international point of view.

EARTHY TONES
You can’t be called Terra, and don’t indulge yourself in earthy tones. The combination between brown tones gives the hotels the warmth it wants you to feel when you enter each space. It is located in a monumental building, so you’ll see some elements of that, but that gives more meaning and feeling to the name of the hotel and fits great with the colors itself.
But colors like red, green and yellow will also combine great with brown tones. And you’ll see that they perceived the original tiles of the building, which brings great character to each room and plus adds pops of color in a subtle way.
FEEL LIKE HOME
Entering the building, you’ll enter a living room instead of a reception waiting room. When traveling to Curaçao for the first time, enter a room where you feel like home is a great start of your vacation. It’s because we are in this pandemic, otherwise you might even get a hug from the host.
Find yourself in a cozy corner to sit and read or even work at a table. The beautiful contrast between the dark colors on the walls and the light colors in the cushions and the rest of the furniture is splendidly done.
UNIQUE
The rooms all have a different layout. All do have a unique element to it, like getting sea or city views to a skylight in a shower. Each room is beautiful styled and will make your stay very pleasant. And instead of the traditional bathrobe, you’ll get your personal kimono to wear, which were locally made on the island.
