My traveling weeks are coming soon and I’m so excited for this trip. I’m always excited when going on a trip. It’s the people you meet, the food you’ll eat, the places you’ll visited, the souvenirs you’ll buy to take home and the awesome pictures you’ll make for your collection of memories. I’m very grateful that I had the chance to travel abroad more than once this year.
As traveling can be expensive, here are some tips:
1. TRY TO TRAVEL IN OFF SEASONS
During school vacations everything seems more expensive and more crowded. So if you don’t have kids and don’t have to stand infront of a class, it’s a good thing to travel when there isn’t any school vacations.
2. KEEP CHECKING THE AIRLINES SITES
Ok,…an easy way is to like those airlines on Facebook for example. Our next trip we’ll be heading to Europe and living on an island it can be very expensive. People buy sometimes a ticket for $2000 just to get there and I’m not talking about first class. By liking KLM on Facebook I can get their deals directly on my feed. By doing that we got some awesome deals for tickets, $500,- each. That’s amazing ofcourse, cause now we have more money to spend there.
3. START PLANNING A FEW MONTHS AHEAD (or maybe a year)
Ofcourse it depends where you’re off to, but if you have a destination in mind it’s a good thing to know if there are any activities or festivals there. It can be the case that they pump up the prices. Like this weekend we have the Curacao North Sea Jazz Festival on the island. Which is an awesome festival, but all the hotels pump up their rates, so it’s a good thing to check out months ahead (in this case a year) what deals they have so you don’t have to pay the full amount.
4. SHOP OR SIGHTSEEING VACATION
It’s good to know what you’re going to do on your vacation. Are you planning to shop or do you want to see everything about your destination? It can be expensive if you would like to do both. Ofcourse a little shopping won’t kill, but if you can’t control your shopping craziness you’ll be sitting in your room for the next days. Try to balance them or you won’t be having much fun.
